    Or as I'll say on occasion, Runs Batted Ins.

    I used to bring up RsBI at other shops to STFU the hard-dicks on the desk. Now I'm a soft-dick on the desk and I say whatevs I go RBI because "runs batted in" still fits the acronym.

    Who gives a shit? Just pick one and make sure you're consistent with its use.

    After he averaged 26 homers and 84 RBIs over three years, Billy Beane kicked Nick Swisher to the curb (albeit for Carlos Gonzalez).

    Wonder how much longer he'll stick with Josh "Seven Extra Base Hits, .516 OPS" Reddick?

    Hey, MLB Network: It's May 7. Can we back off a bit on calling Tigers-Nats a World Series preview?

    Blue Jays starter J.A. Happ just left the game on a stretcher after getting drilled in the head on a Desmond Jennings liner. Happ had no chance to get out of the way. Dropped. Blood on the side of his head, near his right ear. Ball ricocheted down the right-field line and Jennings ended up on third with a triple.

    @trentmccotter:

    Since 1916: no decision w/9+IP & only 1 baserunner: Harvey; Travis Wood, 9IP, 1BR on 7/10/2010; and Jose DeLeon, 11IP, 1BR on 8/30/1989.

    Interesting stat from the Mariners radio crew:

    By beating the Pirates 2-1 today, Felix Hernandez earned his 50th "FQS" ... a "Felix Quality Start" of at least 8 innings pitched allowing 1 or fewer earned runs.

    He has 50 of those in 246 career starts.

    Not too shabby.
