With Mark Buehrle it's a Fucking Quick Start.

Back when he was with the White Sox and the Twins had Carlos Silva and his sinker, they had a couple games clock in under two hours.

    A thing of beauty.

I would be interested to know which pitchers, at least during the last 30 or 40 years, have the highest percentage of starts with eight or more innings and one or no earned runs allowed. Heck of a stat, and about as dominant as a pitcher can be. Maybe Verducci will do the research for some mid-season feature.

I feel bad for Felix sometimes, he has to pretty much throw a shut out to get a win.

He's one of maybe four pitchers who are capable of doing so every time out.

Discussion at work today: Pick one, Andrew McCutchen or Carlos Gonzalez?

Really tough call, but I'll go McCutchen.

This season is different so far, but for his career Carlos Gonzalez has been a barely even average hitter on the road. Career OPS at home is 1.001, and on the road it's .751.

You're really going to bring some newfangled, made up statistic like OPS into this?

Red Sox-Twins has begun like this:

    Twins 4
    Red Sox 5
    Twins 3 and counting

    Edit:

    Twins 7 and counting

That's a good point. I forgot who I was talking to.

Gonzalez's bat does make the ball sizzle and he has the strides of a gazelle, that has to count for something.
