Before people start screaming about why they suspended him, and not Angel......there is a massive difference between rule and judgment.

Sorry, but the blackout thing is still damn stupid. I live far away from my favorite team too, and I pay good money for their premium MLB.TV package. But on a Saturday afternoon, when people are actually home from work and able to sit down with a beer and watch some baseball, I'm getting the Dodgers or Angels because that's what Selig and Fox have decided I get. Bullshit. I pay for the most expensive package they have and I still get blacked out? It just makes no sense.

With the NFL, I pay the exorbitant prices and I get EVERY game. No excuses, no bullshit, every game. As a consumer I get to decide if I'm willing to pay the price to get every game. Baseball doesn't give me the option. Is there a difference between 16 games and 162? Sure. But there doesn't have to be. I'm willing to pay for 162, and to me that's where MLB is dropping the ball. It's just bad business to tell customers who are willing and able to pay for something that they can't buy it.

I thought every game was available with MLB Extra Innings, which I obviously haven't purchased. If not, that is stupid.

If things haven't changed, Fox has an exclusive three-hour window on Saturdays. So, if you are a Reds fan in LA and they are playing a regional game, you only get what Fox is showing in your area.

Things haven't changed....that's how it works. It's just ridiculous.

Shelby Miller, rookie. Allows a leadoff hit against the Rockies, then retires 27 straight with 13 strikeouts. I need buckdub to rule on how this stacks up in league history.

I do remember the Angels' John Lackey giving up a leadoff double before setting down the next 27 in a complete game shutout in 2006 against the A's, but don't know how many other times that has happened.

One year when Babe Ruth was still pitching, he walked the first batter and then got ejected for being a dickbag. His reliever came in, and retired the next 26 batters faced. Plus, the guy who drew the leadoff walk was caught stealing in the first, so the minimum 27 players were the only ones faced.

Without googling, I think Jim Bibby did it when I was a kid.

    And here it is...

Odd that he only had three Ks in the game.

It was 1917, and Ruth punched the umpire (the wonderfully named Brick Owens). Reliever was Ernie Shore, who was credited with a perfect game for years before they changed the criteria saying you had to pitch a complete game.

    Punched an umpire?

If the guy is a shitty ump, why not just kill him? [/93Devil]

I believe Ruth lost his Captaincy of the Yankees after the incident.
