Jeez, this topic went down the shitter.
You've got a Giants fanboi criticizing a hated Dodger for a benevolent act that wasn't benevolent enough.
You've got a stat nerd making a serious accusation of physical violence after seeing something on TV with the sound down, something that everybody who is paying attention knows is factually wrong.
You've got guys criticizing Kemp because Larry Bowa -- now there's a voice or reason -- didn't like him.
You guys must be bloggers, post first, get it right later.

So the general consensus is Larry Bowa is a dick?

Hey, if it weren't for bases loaded walks, the Dodgers would have no offense today.

Yeah, Bowa is a dick, but he was also serving as Torre's proxy on that too. I think most people like Torre.

    He's an overrated manager.

Is it not possible that he hadn't thought it out before making the $1,000/hr gesture? It it possible he determined after the fact that it wasn't sufficient and wanted to do more? Do you think 48 hours is too long to wait for a professional athlete to well-considered decision? Do you realize he's from Oklahoma City, his family still lives there and he's and seen first-hand what tornadoes can do? What gives you the beginning of a right to criticize how much money someone else decides to give to a cause?

Oh, it's definitely possible. And I do think that he determined after the fact that it wasn't sufficient, although not for the reasons you suspect. And yes, I know he's from the OKC area, which made his original offer that much more puzzling.

And again, he's free to give what he wants. Good on him. Good on anyone who gives. It's just a little puzzling.

    But I'm sure you're right.

Matt Kemp throws nickels around like manhole covers.

It's been more often than that of late. This one was more disgraceful than most. Domestic violence isn't funny and using it to troll is way out of line.

Ah, thank goodness. The well-mannered, in-control conscience of SportsJournalists.com speaks up.

Come on Dick, you didn't really think that was Matt Kemp who beat up Rihanna. You were just joking right?

Until a few hours ago, I couldn't have told you that Rihanna and Matt Kemp were ever in the same room together, let alone touched genitals for a while. If Rihanna was in line at Starbucks behind me, I wouldn't know her from the philosophy major serving me my grande medium roast. I know one thing about Rihanna and one thing only: Her boyfriend beat her up. Well, two things: It wasn't Matt Kemp.
