As soon as I saw that photo I thought of the Will Ferrell Harry Caray skit on SNL.

And the freakin' umpires strike again, now at Chavez Ravine.

Okay yeah, he was safe. At first I thought he was out, but that last replay, Gonzalez missed him by at least six inches.

Kinda dumb of Aybar to round second in that situation.

Coming on the heels of the abortion of a series in Kansas City -- namely Marty freakin' Foster -- just ... enough already. Get the freak into position to make the call.

I think the home plate umpire made that call. Not sure why he'd make a call at first.

To be fair, Aybar was running on the pitch. Then, of course, he was faked out by an infielder, according to the Angels announcers, which he should bear some fault for, but I don't think it was that much of a brain fart by Aybar.

But, to the point of the call, that one, just like the one Sunday on Trumbo touching first base on a 3U groundout, you had umpires making calls on things they could not possibly see from the angle they had, and that's a bad habit to start.

Of course, I'm more pissed that the Angels had control of that game, and Wilson and the bullpen imploded again.

    That can't be right.

Jered Weaver struck out against his brother in 2010. The next inning, Jeff Weaver grounded out to second off his brother.

Mike & Greg Maddux squared off at least once too in Mike's ML debut in 1986. They both went 0-1 against each other.

Pretty sure that wasn't the only time they pitched against each other.

Yeah, Mike went 1-for-7 against Greg: http://bbref.com/pi/shareit/o7anR. And Greg went 1-for-3 with an RBI against Mike: http://bbref.com/pi/shareit/X0Adp.

Sierra put Ogdenville on the map, though.

If I'm not mistaken, and I very well may be, it was at least partly in an attempt to fund those ridiculous contracts that the Mets ended up getting involved with, and eventually ripped off by, Bernie Madoff. But I could be making that up.

Yeah, I thought of that after I posted it. I'm sure the Niekros faced each other, too. And probably Pedro & Ramon Martinez.

I'm guessing the list didn't include brothers who were both pitchers.
