You're either a brilliant troll or a truly stupid mouth-breather.

    If it's the former, kudos.

OK, here's what I'm saying since you can't seem to comprehend this.

Being concerned with pitch selectivity and reaching base can't be a reason for failure because IT IS A GOOD THING to be concerned with those things.

Outs are the most precious commodity in the game and to focus on not making them is a proper mindset.

That's not the reason he's sucking. He's sucking because at this point, he can't hit.

Right. And maybe he isn't hitting because he is watching good pitches go by. I don't know. But it is not an outlandish suggestion.

The Giants' Brandon Belt had the same problem. Always wanting to walk, always letting good pitches go by. Now he doesn't walk as much, and he hits for a lot more power and has had some game-winners. I guess those two items could be unrelated, but the Giants don't seem to think they are.

Not ridiculous at all. Sabermetrics offer all sorts of great analytical tools but it messes up some guys who begin to take a more passive approach in search of a higher OBP. It's the difference between taking confident swings at pitches you like and trying to see a lot of pitches and grind out walks. I want my hitters in the on-deck circle to visualize doubles to the opposite-field gap rather than fouling off marginal pitches in hope of a 10-pitch walk.

I would like Eric Wedge to direct me to the NERD!!!!1111 with a CALCULATOR!!!111!!! who NEVER PLAYED THE GAME!!!1111!!! who thinks that walks are better than home runs.

If Dustin Ackley doesn't understand the data, that's on Dustin Ackley, not the NERDS!!!!111 with CALCULATORS!!!!111 who NEVER PLAYED THE GAME!!!111!!!ELEVENTY!11 who didn't protect him from his own inability to think critically.

He's a slightly above average troll playing, but his performance is inflated by posting in the Coors Field of trolling.

Ackley, according to Fangraphs, swings at 23.8 percent of pitches outside the strike zone.

Watching Astros-Rockies, and it's still hard to think of this as an interleague game. It's going to take me a while to get used to the Astros in the AL.

Dustin Ackley was never a great hitter in the minors. It's no surprise he's a lousy hitter in the majors.
