Votto no, Trout I'd probably do, Cabrera I think I would, but four of the five leagues I play in are NL only.

From The National Pastime Museum's FB page:

Who was the first Major Leaguer to hit 4 home runs in 1 game? No, it wasn't Lou Gehrig or Willie Mays, both of whom accomplished the feat. It was Boston Beaneater Bobby Lowe. It happened on this date, 1894. Quite an accomplishment, and quite a team name I'd say! Take a look at this TNPM Lowe holding, a 1922 original.

I traded Kemp for Wright (in a 6-player deal) after the 2nd week of the season. My team improved.

One of the better moves I've made. Hi #RIPRon!

The one deal I have made netted me Kershaw, some guy really wanted Yu Darvish so he sent me Dexter Fowler, Ryan Howard and Kershaw for Darvish and Josh Hamilton. I had too many outfielders so giving up Hamilton was nothing.

You play in five fantasy leagues and you give no weight to WAR, OPS or a player's past performance?

Is your team name Dead Money Walking?

The leagues don't have those stats.

They have real stats: Avg, HR, RBI, SB, R, Total bases, XBH and such. Like I said, I drafted Kemp based on his past, I draft based on what a guy did in his career. For the 100th time, just because someone had 35 hr and 120 RBI in 2011, doesn't mean they will do it again this year.

Why can't you guys get that each season a person plays is a new season and their stats start at zero?

Totally. Nick Punto could totally be a star now because the past years don't matter.

I get that maybe they are good for saying what someone might, possibly do. But why is it so hard for people to get that each season starts anew?

If that wasn't the case, shouldn't the announcers and others just give career stats when someone bats?

"Matt Kemp at the plate, 153 Hr's and 543 RBI, with a .292 average. We'd give you his stats for this season, but they don't matter because in the previous six seasons this is what he has done."

Why do people keep saying just because he had such-and-such numbers in 2010, 2011 and 2012, he is gonna do XYZ in 2013. It's a new season. Records and stats don't carry over.

Because those 3,000 at-bats or whatever a player had over the previous eight seasons weren't just flukes. They were indicative of talent level. The numbers are likely to stay stable or increase/decrease marginally based on age and injury.

    Possibly.

I'm interetsed to know who is the most up and down player in baseball history? Is there any player who was like that? Or does everyone who has one good season have two or more?

Bret Saberhagen was notorious for alternating good years and bad years when he was with Kansas City.

And Prince Fielder was up and down for a while, but has been pretty consistent the last 3 years or so.

    He's a bum.

Kemp, I mean. ... OK, NDJ is a bum, too.
