All kinds of moves today by the Nationals:

    • RF Jayson Werth activated from DL
    • 2B Danny Espinosa put on the DL
    • Anthony Rendon called up to play 2B
    • LHP Ian Krol called up to pitch in bullpen
    • RHP Henry Rodriguez DFA'd
    • LHP Zach Duke DFA'd

Why won't they let Krol pitch in any games?

Mike and Mattingly could be a drive-time show on Los Angeles area-radio pretty soon.

Eventful day for Nellie Cruz so far ...

    1. Learned he is on the brink of a 50-game suspension.

    2. Chased a Mike Carp long ball to the fence in the bottom of the fifth, went over it and tumbled into the Sox bullpen. That'll be a funny GIF if it isn't already. Ask and ye shall receive:

    3. Hit a solo homer to lead off the next inning.

    4. Just dropped a can of corn in RF down the line. God, he's awful.

Another great moment in umpiring history.
Phillies' Ben Revere slides headfirst into second on a sharp grounder to third, his entire body passes over the bag but his momentum carries him through it ... and is called out for interference, for a rally-killing double play. I can't find video of the play yet, but I've seen worse takeout slides in beer league softball games. The Phillies fans booed Bob Davidson the rest of that inning and through the entire top of the ninth.

@MLB is saying the Red Sox have scored runs in each of the first 7 innings tonight against the Rangers and that no AL team ever has scored runs in all 9 innings.

Last MLB team to do it was Colorado, right? In a game at Wrigley? Don't remember the year, though.

Matt Moore roughed up for the first time this season and likely tagged with his first loss.

Pulled in the third, allowing six runs on seven hits with a walk and no strikeouts. Raises his ERA to 2.95.

The Red Sox will not score runs in all 9 innings tonight. Unless Texas scores 12 to tie in the top of the 9th.

David Murphy now pitching for Texas.
