For all their great pitching over the years, the Braves haven't had a no-hitter since 1994, and that one was pitched by Kent Freakin' Mercker.

Was about to post something to direct attention to Atlanta, but Sonner beat me to it.

The DL'd ninth-inning pitcher for the Indians apparently can't even close a drug deal …

They're probably looking more toward performance dehancers in his case.

No matter how Teheran finishes this afternoon, he has already topped his Major League high for strikeouts in a game and is closing in on his professional high:

    May 31, 2010 — 14 strikeouts, Myrtle Beach at Frederick, High-A
    May 19, 2010 — 12, Myrtle Beach at Winston-Salem, High-A
    June 16, 2010 — 12, Myrtle Beach vs. Potomac, High-A
    July 30, 2009 — 11, Danville at Burlington, Rookie
    June 9, 2011 — 11, Gwinnett at Toledo, Triple-A

Teheran's always had swing-and-miss stuff with the fastball and changeup. His problem to this point has been command of his breaking ball.

Still throwing in the 90s. I just turned it on, but he's looking pretty good.
