Angels traded him to get Greinke, then didn't re-sign Greinke.
And you wonder why they are 10 games under .500.

Jean Segura must be eating lunch with Ryan Braun.

There is a difference between LTL's lame joke and baseless accusation folks like A_QB like to toss around on here.

Ugly day for the Rockies. Carlos Gonzalez, Dexter Fowler and Troy Tulowitzki all leave with injuries. X-Rays on Gonzalez's foot already came back negative. No word yet on Fowler, who was hit on the hand and tried to stay in the game before being pulled. No idea what's wrong with Tulowitzki yet, but I guess he just couldn't stand to be the only one not getting hurt.

What's the deal with all the super-long games this year. Reds and Cubs in the 14th in the friendly confines.

Cubs win it in the 14th, but Yankees-A's are now in the 13th.

Dusty being Dusty, he refused to use Aroldis Chapman. But I bet he'll be really really ready to go for tomorrow!

On the road it's standard to hold your closer back until you get a lead. People who know baseball know that.

It's standard, but it isn't smart. Why should you wait until a lower-leverage situation (protecting a lead your team has already earned) to use your best reliever? Instead you can use him in a tie game, where one mistake could end it for your team, and have a better chance at prolonging the game at least one more inning than you would using some shitty middle reliever.

It's silly to hold your closer for a situation that may never come. The fact that it's almost standard in Major League Baseball is even sillier.

The fact that your latest absence was only 10 days is silliest of all.

Evan Grant explains why saving the closer is a good idea.
