Agreed, it's a dilemma, with no equitable fix.

The inequitable thing is, while you're only costing a pitcher two games of starts, you're docking him 10 days of pay. A position player with a 2-game suspension misses the same amount of time but keeps more money.

With today's salaries, it's all Monopoly money anyway. So the family dog gets Ol' Roy instead of Alpo for a few days to compensate?

Jayson Stark with a good read on the whole deal. The Diamondbacks thought the whole thing was the Dodgers' fault because Greinke took four pitches to finally get Montero, but The Code says you only get one chance. However, to the Dodgers, The Code doesn't say that at all.

Somebody should write down those unwritten rules one of these days.

Why? A 10-gamer costs Kennedy two starts. Starting pitchers only make about 33-34 starts a season. So that will cost him about 6% of his season.

A lot easier to say when it's not your money.

    I love that website.

I guess he printed two versions and the Dodgers had one and the Dbacks had the other.

Nobody is asking you to feel sorry for them but it's not your money and to act like it is no big deal is ridiculous.

Oh no, players on the DL can't sit in the dugout! Whatever are they gonna do?
