    See also: Swoon, June.

Injury bug has been working OT as well: Vogelsong, Pagan, Sandoval and, until the last few games, Scutaro. But still only a few games back in the NL West.

I learned this rule while on the baseball beat. To be a catch the ball has to be "presented" to the umpire. The ump had the rule correct. The transfer after a catch in the outfield, if dropped, is not an out.

However, had he held up the glove to show the umpire and then dropped the ball transferring to his throwing hand, it would have been an out.

I remember the day that happened. Freaking awesome.

By the way, Bautista did not get plunked today. He did hit a three-run double in the Jays' 13-5 shit-kicking of the Orioles.

If Davis never got hit to load the bases for Bautista, I think Jose was going to get hit. None the less, it was a great game. Now let's hope they can keep this up against the Rays and Red Sox. Two teams they've struggled against.

Jesus just left Rochester, and he's bound for Target Field

It's on the books. It's just a specific kind of error, and it's only charged if it costs the defensive team a base.

It doesn't show up as an error in the boxscore/linescore, though.

Nor in the catcher's fielding percentage. It's just one of those quirky scoring rules, like not getting an RBI when you ground into a double play.

It's so bad it is never to be spoken of.

Giants' Angel Pagan undergoes surgery to repair torn hamstring. He's out 12 weeks, but with his speed/defense game I figure he's cooked for the season and postseason.

They have been trying out a new guy who looks kind of good in Juan Perez. But Pagan heating up was a huge part of what they did last year.
