And Machado is up to 38 doubles now.

Also, this is the worst I've seen Kuroda pitch in a long while.

I don't know about long while.

And I'm not so sure he's pitching badly. 3 solo homers is the damage. 7 strikeouts.

He now has a QS tonight.

The home run ball be-Deviled him tonight.

The Tigers are getting to that point in the season where they're starting to piss me off. Thank God we still have all 19 games remaining against the South Side trainwreck knows as the White Sox. At this point, I just hope Hawk doesn't shoot himself on-air.

July 1 and they still haven't played the White Sox? Seems like pretty strange scheduling.

Very. It's been a small-talk broadcaster topic repeatedly since the schedule came out last September.

First series is the middle of next week in Detroit, followed by July 22-25 at the Cell, Aug. 2-4 in Detroit, Aug. 12-14 and Sept. 9-11 at the Cell and Sept. 20-22 in Detroit.

EDIT: If you're scoring at home, that's 19 of the last 72.

I suppose this is the point I run on my sword of journalistic truth. Oops.

The Angels are showing signs of life and a big reason is Josh Hamilton. He batted .429 on the team's 6-0 road trip. Of course, a good chunk of that may be a function of facing Astros pitching.

The trip also included 3 games against Detroit"s crappy pitching.

The Angels made Houston's pitching look pretty good in their games earlier this season, so maybe this weekend really is a sign of improvement. However, I think they've dug a pretty big hole for themselves, and they have to hope for big slumps from both the A's and Rangers.

This is the third season we've been waiting for the A's to become the A's and fall apart. We shouldn't wait for that any more.
The Angels are shooting for the second wild card.
