There seems to be much more AAA movement in recent years and some teams always get screwed in the shuffle, hence the Mets AAA in Vegas or the Pirates in Edmonton.

Jays moving their AAA team to Buffalo from Vegas might be the best move they made in the offseason.

There usually seems to be some city "out of the mix," because they didn't keep their ballpark up to date.
Fresno got the Giants AAA team from Phoenix when the D-backs joined the NL. I also figure grounds keeping and training facilities have a lot to do with (which I assume is the affiliate's responsibility).

Huntsville, Ala., which has been a Brewers affiliate for more than a decade and was an Athletics farm team for 15 or so years before that, might lose the Stars because of exactly that reason: Joe Davis Stadium is a dump.

Biloxi, Miss., is working on securing the funding for a waterfront stadium, and rumor has it they'll go after the Stars.

Sure, I'm a Yankee, but does anyone else see that and think 'really bad idea?'

Vegas is the Mets now? They change all the time. When I was there it was the Dodgers. Which is closer to LA than ABQ.

Pedro Gomez interviewed Yoenis Cespedes and Aroldis Chapman in Spanish last night at the Home Run Derby, and fans did not like it one bit:

That's exactly what I thought would happen when I saw the Cespedes interview.

Since there's not an All-Star Game thread ... Robinson Cano took a 96 mph fastball off his knee and left the game. That looked like it hurt like hell. Hit him right about the spot you'd punch somebody to give them a charlie horse.

When was the last time someone suffered a significant injury in the All-Star Game? I remember Barry Larkin blew out his elbow in the now-defunct "skills competition" one year, but can't recall anyone getting hurt in the actual game other than Ray Fosse in 1970 ...
