The Philadelphia Phillies are now in 2nd place in the NL East, a half-game ahead of the team with no weaknesses.

In a battle of NL West powerhouses, Houston's Brandon Barnes hits for the cycle against Seattle.

He belted a second-inning HR, his first career triple and a single in his first three at-bats, then barely beat the throw at second for an eighth-inning double.

Mariners up 9-6 in the eighth.

You're not crazy. The ball does kind of sail on him.

Weirdness -- Puig is being sued for $12M in U.S. court by a Cuban man who was convicted of "human trafficking" and sentenced to seven years for trying to help Puig escape. The man says he never offered to help and that Puig and his mother lied on the witness stand to curry favor with the government. Similar case pending against Aroldis Chapman.

I have the scorecard for David Wells' perfect game that I kept.

I will usually start keeping score of a game if I am there, but will usually fade in interest if it looks like nothing huge will happen that game. I have a ML scorecards from a perfect game, a natural cycle and a pitcher hitting a grand slam.

It's also nice to keep a card at a minor league game just to note who you saw play before they became all stars in the bigs.

It's also a neat thing to collect if you like memorabilia that is not too expensive.

On this list, six of the top 100 home runs of all time, when it was written, came in the All-Star Game.

Rivera received a standing ovation when he entered the game at Fenway yesterday.

He really has some nerve, demanding that of the Red Sox fans.

Cespedes out of A's lineup again because of a sore wrist. Hasn't played since the break.

The Derby curse strikes early this year.
