MILWAUKEE - Karen Eidem was enjoying a Brewers game at Miller Park when security singled her out due to her clothing. The controversial article? A Ryan Braun shirt modified to read "fraud" across the back.

Eidem says she was forced to either change her clothing or be ejected from Miller Park. She opted to turn the shirt inside out.

"I mean it was obviously meant as a joke, but to put me in a position where I'm the one to be perceived as doing something wrong, that kind of bothered me." said Eidem.

The Brewers released a statement in response to this incident. It reads:

“In this case, the fan absolutely should have been able to wear the jersey without any intervention by our staff. We welcome the opportunity for fans to express their opinions. The only circumstances that would warrant us intervening is if someone were to display a message or item that would be considered offensive to other fans. This is not a case where that line was crossed, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience to her. We will reach out to Ms. Eidem to invite her to another game this year as our guest.”

Tonight the NL's 4 frontrunners for Cy Young are pitching:

Harvey, Kershaw, Locke and Wainwright. All of their numbers are tremendous.

Locke's ERA is an illusion. His walk rate and K-to-BB ratio are terrible.

And Cliff Lee is having a better year than either Corbin or Locke.

    Bryce Harper is hurt again:

    With a 3.05 ERA?

That would be a difficult case to make.

I'll give you the K-BB ratio but Locke's low 2-point-something ERA is no illusion 100 games into the season. He may walk people but no pitcher in baseball has a lower BAA with RISP.

And sure, maybe he's not top 4. Maybe he's top 6. But he's in that conversation.

    K-to-BB ratio of almost 6-to-1.

The ERA is almost entirely a function of giving up (mostly) solo home runs.

Locke's strand rate is 86 percent. He's putting up those numbers because the Pirates have the best bullpen in the NL, if not all of baseball, and because PNC Park is death for right-handed power-hitters.

    In before the Locke.

Oh. Well, as long as they're only scoring on solo home runs, because those don't count as much.

I think you're getting a little too fine with the analysis there. A 2.11 ERA and a 2.31 ERA are better than a 3.05 ERA, and not just incidentally so. You would certainly be within your rights to say Lee is a better pitcher, but it's kind of silly to say he is "having a better year."

    Lee home: 4-2, 3.97 ERA
    Lee road: 6-2, 2.45 ERA

    Corbin home: 8-0, 1.54 ERA
    Corbin road: 4-1, 3.28 ERA

And contrary to popular belief, Chase Field is essentially a neutral park, especially as much as the roof has been closed this year due to the extreme heat.
