Livan Hernandez got five calls worse than that in Game 6 of the 1997 NLCS alone:

    And yeah, I'm still bitter.

I knew the Astros were up against it this year, but wow, what a bunch of no-names in the lineup last night.

Jose Altuve, Carlos Pena, and ... that's about it.

Made the weak-hitting M's lineup look like sluggers in comparison.

They've lost six straight since winning their opener, and have been shut out three times. They've hit two home runs. Total. (Ankiel in the opener, and Jason Castro).

1899 Cleveland Spiders might want to get some champaign bottles.

Pete Rose was in the Twin Cities recently. From the St. Paul Pioneer Press:

    He's led quite the life:

I had no dog in that hunt, but man his strike zone that day was so ridiculous. I remember hearing when Eric Gregg was running into money problems soon after he resigned, and thinking maybe Hernandez could kick in some cash, since that NLCS game, and Gregg's calls, had a lot to do with whatever big contract he was pitching under.

Like Gene Simmons, Pete Rose will do absolutely anything for a buck.

Jered Weaver out at least a month with broken left elbow.

Watched it as it happened. It's almost as if he went into shock soon as it happened. The look on his face was painfully sad.

Jason Motte has a torn elbow after all. Probably Tommy John surgery:

We spoke too soon. Astros bat around in the first inning, belt two homers in second, lead 9-0 at Safeco.

Wednesday's Dodgers game at San Diego won't be televised live by Prime Ticket (one of the two Fox regional channels). Bumped by the ................ CLIPPERS.
Never in a million years did I think this could happen.
Prime Ticket announced the game will be on a Prime Alternative channel. Please consult your cable company (and don't call your newspaper).

Nice major-league debut by Nick Tepesch tonight. He looked a lot like Derek Lowe ... nine years ago.

The Derek Lowe of today is a shambling disaster.
