A_QB is trolling and reminding us about his ridiculous stance on PED use.

That's why I used the words "moderately." It is very likely he used some magic words, but one must have one hell of a thin skin to give the old heave-ho:

    1. In the middle of an at-bat
    2. With the bases loaded, thus dramatically affecting gameplay
    3. In the third inning
    4. To one of, if not, the game's best hitters (I'd think he'd get a little more latitude than a rookie or a scrub)
    5. Who did not leave the batter's area or physically confront him.
    6. Less than seven seconds after the pop of the mitt.

    That's just unprofessional.

The good news is the Phillies embarrassed themselves today, so it didn't matter, but it's clear Fairchild has some issues with "situation handling."

Kerry Wood, Doc Gooden, Nolan Ryan, Jose Fernandez (today).

Who are the only pitchers under the age of 21 with 13 strikeouts and 0 walks in a game.

I might have guessed Wood and Gooden, but no way would I have figured on Ryan. He was a walk machine for the first 10-12 years of his career.

And the Dodgers just set a franchise record by striking out for the 19th time today. They may not face anything other than breaking pitches the rest of the season with the way they're whiffing on them.

    To top-11, 0-0.

Knives are starting to be sharpened in Arlington, and Dave Magadan may soon be sacrificed to the baseball gods.

When you go 21 scoreless innings in a row against Cleveland and lose 8 of 10 coming out of the All-Star break to drop 6 games out, the hounds are pounding the gate.

Hunter Pence, Andre Ethier and Alex Rios all together ain't gonna fix that level of suck.

A's down 5-0 after two innings today, beat Angels 10-6. Since July 1 of last year they are 50 games over .500. Nobody has more than 61 RBIs, and Donaldson leads the team in plate appearances but is only 46th in the majors.

Dodgers strike out 20 times and then Puig hits walk-off HR to win it 1-0.

What's the deal with all the 1-0 games? It's like 1968 all over again.

A dramatization of today's events at Dodger Stadium:
