And just when the Angels can't make it any worse: Swept in Texas, all three ending with walk-off homers.

Carlos Santana's walkoff homer vs. ChiSox puts Indians in lead for second wildcard spot in AL. (admitted fanboi looser alert)

Kershaw and Kuroda going toe-to-toe in LA, 0-0 through six and a half.

When the standings are published the morning of Aug. 1, the best team in baseball will be the Pittsburgh Pirates. They are the only team above .600, they are 2 1/2 games up in the division and they are 10 games in the clear for at least a playoff spot.

Looks like a rocking good time in Pittsburgh too. That Cardinals series was fun to check in on.

Yeah, but people there still wake up everyday living in Pittsburgh. :)

I'm a Pittsburgh guy and I just discovered the baseball season goes into August. For the longest time I thought it ended around Mother's Day.

The way you say that, apparently you know as much about Pittsburgh as you do about baseball players not on the Dodgers' roster. :)

Pittsburgh's a wildly underrated town. Great ethnic food, great sports, great museums, great universities. Easy to get around.

Yeah, the weather sucks seven months a year, but you can't have everything.

This 5-game series, and these Pirates, are reminding me of the '88 Dodgers.

Dodgers began the second half with a 5-game sweep at Wrigley, and that pretty much propelled them the rest of the way.

Pirates still have to win the 5th game of this series, but even if they don't, they're not going to fade any time soon.
