    I smell "reality-show auditioning."

Pretty much an automatic suspicion any time anybody does anything stupid or outlandish on video.

The Braves have added 10.5 games to their NL East lead in 30 days (and that includes the 4-day All-Star break). They led Washington by 4 games on July 7, lead by 14.5 now.

That's as much about the rest of the NL East taking a giant, steaming dump in its collective bed as the Braves playing well.

Appears Justin Verlander is not in a career tailspin after all. Whew. I was concerned.

Andrew McCutchen is doing serious MVP-type stuff since the all-star break. This saved the game last night. What a jump he got.

Question for SportsJournalists.com British Columbia: Is the love for the Blue Jays in western Canada a recent thing, or has it been going on for a while?

Blue Jays fans from Vancouver and other B.C. areas have poured into Safeco Field the last two nights and given the Jays a virtual home-field advantage. And those fans haven't been disappointed, as Dead Team Walking rolled over and played horribly behind its two best pitchers.

Of course, the Mariners will gladly take Canadian fans' money ... 32K for a Monday night game is by far the best Monday night crowd of the season in Seattle, save the home opener.

Thanks for any insights, neighbours to the north ... ;)

It's been going on for a while.

It also helps that Brett Lawrie is from Langley, British Columbia.

I laughed when I saw this at the game yesterday.

I believe the M's Michael Saunders is from Victoria, B.C.

Of course, he doesn't have as many cool tats as Lawrie.

Or as much home run power, either.

It's been going on forever. Fans from BC flock down to Safeco when the Jays are in town. It's only about 2.5 hours fropm Vancouver

I assume that is meant as a dig at Bonds as well as praise for McCutchen
