No. He could hit, but add a GG in CF to a great bat means more to me.

And Bonds had three great seasons in Pittsburgh. McCutchen has had one complete great season and is on his way to a second, and he is signed for five more years after this. I'll take McCutchen's future work over anything Bonds did in Pittsburgh.

McCutchen has exactly zero seasons as the best player in the National League. Bonds was the best player for at least his last three in Pittsburgh. Maybe McCutchen eventually lives up to your statement, but he's not there yet. Not even close.

That's just silly talk Devil. Bonds was the best player in the game when he was with the Pirates, McCucthen is not.

Not to mention Stargell is a Hall of Famer and was the NL MVP and World Series MVP during his career.

Rivera blows the save in the 9th. Bechham hits a double, then Adam Dunn gets one of his three hits of the season to left field to drive him in.

Now in the 12th after the Yankees blew a 4-0 lead.

Yeah, but he was a terrible outfielder. ::)

I'll take the prime of a career over three years.

And Stargell's MVP was a joke. He played in 126 games and had a lower OPS than Parker that season (who is a better person to counter with) and Bill freaking Madlock meant a shit ton as well. They were something like 24 games over .500 in the 85 games or so he played after coming over from the Giants. They were only four games over .500 at the time of the trade.

Stargell made 84 errors in 1296 games in the outfield (left field primarily). That's a little more than 10 a season.

    Troll better.

Tigers get a two-run double from the previously comatose Prince Fielder and beat the Indians in 14. Win goes to Jeremy Bonderman, who last pitched for the Tigers in 2010. Scherzer goes tomorrow and this series is getting so painful for Cleveland that they're going to have to give it a nickname.

And the Yankees just blew it again. Cano homers in top of 12th, Yanks get two outs in bottom, but then Adam Warren gives up three straight hits and it's over.
