ESPN statement says it was just dehydration for Kruk.

In one of those "fate worse than death" contests, the Cubs and Padres both scored twice in the 13th and are still going at Petco.

Cubs scored their first run when the first baseman went home on what should have been a 3-6-3 double play and hit the hitter in the head with the throw. Never seen that before.

That's right -- "dehydration" is usually is a euphemism for that, isn't it.

White Sox bench coach Mark Parent got tossed today against the Rangers. While exchanging lineup cards before the game.

Longtime Richmond Braves manager (and later Atlanta Braves bench coach) Jim Beauchamp once got ejected during the lineup card exchange, when he told the home plate umpire "I'm surprised you could quit jacking off long enough to get to the ballpark today."

Friend of mine who coaches baseball got tossed during lineups once. Says the umpire exchanges pleasantries with everyone and then starts talking about how he has his strike zone, but he'll start to give the pitcher a couple of inches off the corner if he shows he can hit it consistently. My friend looks at him and says "when did you become Abner Fucking Doubleday?"

    Heaved and hoed.

One pre-game ejection I can remember was in 1989, I believe, the day after the Angels lost in Baltimore on a walk-off homer that replays showed was actually foul. I tuned into the game the next day on TV and they showed the lineup-card exchange and then suddenly manager Doug Rader and the umpire started going nose-to-nose right there at home plate. The argument went on for a decent amount of time before the ump had to run Rader.
