    Is Jose Lima available?

So what happens in the Pirates win tonight? Is there a celebration for at least guaranteeing .500? Or do they wait until win 82? How does the media cover the end of one of the more damning streaks in sports?

The Yankees loss on Sunday is still killing me.

I haven't had any optimism all season, but now I'm starting to think they might grab a wild card spot.

What's the deal on A-Rod's appeal? You know MLB does not want him playing in the post season.

Notice the SS fielding the ground ball, 3 steps to the first base side of second base.

(No, they were not in a shift.)

Not to take away from it, because it was a spectacular play, but they were aligned at double-play depth. Not a shift, but it's not like he had to have ungodly range to get there.

Um, it was a hit and run/steal attempt and he was going to the bag for the throw.

If I was the PR guy I would invite fans to stay after the game while the Pirate captains burned a scorebook, or something similar, behind home plate.

Then tell the fans that number 83 is coming very soon.

Something little that makes for good art, but does not take away the focus of what they are trying to accomplish this season.

Billy Hamilton with his first MLB stolen base, off Yadier.

Moments earlier the camera showed Homer Bailey getting pretty effing pissed in the dugout after being told he was done. Pitched even better than he did during the no-hitter a few months ago.

    0-0 bottom-7.

I bet a ton of Pirates fans in Milwaukee would stay after the game for that.

So it looks like the Nats won't shut him down and he'll be ready for the caribbean series.

Vladimir Guerrero announced his retirement yesterday. Is he a first ballot Hall of Famer?
