I figure the fact that it's already happened once probably increased the probability of it happening again. I wish Deadspin could get some of the lip-readers they employed last month on the case.

I'd feel bad for the fans who came out to see the game tonight, but I can't find many of them. Too bad. It looks like tonight was the first time the Pale Hose have tried in a month.

The Pirates just clinched their first winning season since 1992, beating Texas 1-0 for victory No. 82.

At least be discreet about it, Juan Uribe:

Speaking of the Expos, the Blue Jays will play two games in Montreal next season against the New York Mets.

Cannot imagine this being a big a sell, especially in Montreal. The only way to make this a worse draw is have the Blue Jays play Loria's Marlins. They burn the building down if that happened.

The story says these are preseason games, not regular-season games. So there is that.

The Expos couldn't draw 5,000 for a regular game. What makes MLB think anyone will want to see the Blue Jays in an exhibition?

I'm watching!! (okay, not every game, every inning like the past 3 years; but what do you expect when its a team battling the Padres and Rockies for the cellar?) I was rooting for Buster to finish over .300 and get to 100 RBIs. Yes on the 1st; no on the 2nd. Still following Timmy and hoping that he somehow comes back next year.

My employer supposedly only tests people when we fuck up. Some guys came back from Amsterdam, there first day back the bosses told them they had to do a random, but they fought it and no one peed.

Uribe has been surprisingly good this season, 3B was one of the positions I thought the Dodgers would try to upgrade at the deadline.

Hunter Pence 4-for-6 with a homer and 6 RBIs in losing effort against Rockies. Sure hope the Giants keep him.

Wladimir Balentien, now your joint single-season Japanese home run king, with 21 games left to hit No. 56 and pass Sadaharu Oh (and Tuffy Rhodes and Alex Cabrera).
