I watched the Rangers game last night and I saw a team not out of gas, but a team that has just flat-out quit. They've checked out mentally.

Ian Kinsler got TOOTBLAN'd twice, and the dugout barely raised a finger when Mitch Moreland scored a tying run early on. They also haven't homered once in that 7-game stretch.

Unless they snap out of it and gain at least a split in Tampa, I'm starting to change my mind about Wash. He's out of answers. If the Angels let Sosh go (not likely since the Angels have been better and have a puncher's chance to finish .500), he'll be managing the Rangers in 2014.

I had to Google TOOTBLAN and I'm glad I did.

Did the division series switch back to 2-2-1? I am on the A's website buying playoff tickets and they say it did. Would be odd to switch back after only one year of 2-3, right?

I think the 2-3 thing was a one-off that had something to do with the introduction of the second wild card.

OK thanks. I was pretty convinced it was the Oakland marketing department being the dumbasses that they normally are and doing whatever they could to discourage people from attending the game.

Matt Harvey won't have Tommy John surgery just yet, but will use a 6-to-8-week throwing program to rehab his partially torn UCL:

Can't imagine this ends well ...

A's tickets are selling so well that they're taking the tarps off the third deck. Gonna have to get 'em back up for the Raiders, though.

It has to be killing Lew Wolff to have an exciting team that people want to watch. These damn fans are ruining The Plan!

    The Plan!

I like it. Better trademark it before I come up with an alternate use/definition for it.
