A commenter seems to confirm it:

Lower Box for Friday are $46, and for Sunday they're $53. That's on the right field line. FYI

My kids grew up on baseball and softball. Like to be front row for the action. $67 for Saturday for Diamond Box. After parking and ticket charge I'm already well over $200. Making a middle-class wage. Sorry. Gotta work a little overtime for that one.

I know sometimes teams get really worried that their season-ticket holders, and others who paid full freight, will be pissed about the riffraff getting in for so much less. So they leave the seats empty.

Also sounds like they have different ownership or management now and it is not the warm fuzzy it was during the franchise's rebirth.

I like to be front row for the action, too. But that also means more expensive tickets.

Were there no cheap tickets available in the mid or upper levels?

Last Dodgers game I went to I laid out $26 for the whole game.

    $7 ticket
    $6 soda
    $13 for two Dodger Dogs

Dodger Stadium Express bus from Union Station was free.

Yeah I'm just clipping what the guy said.

Main point being the Cleveland Indians are in a playoff race and they are drawing less than 10,000 fans to games. This is a franchise that set an MLB record by selling out 455 consecutive games from 1995-2001.

Well, the guy apparently left out a few important details.

From a very quick scan of one game on their website, it seems that they aren't selling the outer reaches of the upper deck. The upper deck itself has a low price of $21 for the back rows, which is absurd. Only tickets lower than $20 are in left field, and it's entirely possible they weren't selling those for a midweek day game, particularly at the box office. Or maybe the ticket windows only sell for the particular section of the ballpark they're in.

That's good, desk. And there you go. They can't draw 10K to a game and they still aren't letting anyone in the door for under 20 bucks.

The Indians ticket prices for the regular season are similar to what the Pirates' ticket prices would be for their divisional round games, if they make it that far.

Sounds like a mixuture of slightly overpriced tickets and a terrible/strange protocol at the box office. I can buy tickets at the Nats Park box office for any section I choose, provided they're available.

Pierre passed DiMaggio last night in career hits (2,215, 175th place).

And if not for those three years Pierre missed due to World War II, he'd be close to 3,000 hits. Wait ...

Bear in mind that was total speculation on my part. But yeah, 0 tickets sold x $28 = $0. 1,000 tickets sold x $10 = $10,000.

Admittedly a lot of teams struggle on weeknights during the school year, but at least those teams appear to make an effort.
