Better take down the Terrible Towel in my office and go find my Jolly Roger . . . let's see, where is it? . . . I know I saw it 20 years ago . . .

This was a gut punch. I really hope he's all right because he seems to be a good young guy with a bright future.

Two questions arise regarding the Astros and their attention-deficit:

    - They're drawing (albeit a few hundred more fans) more than the playoff-chasing Indians. How do you explain that?
    - Do that many Houston households lack Fox Sports (the team's TV home)? I keep hearing that as an excuse.

Astros are on Comcast Sports Net, no longer on Fox Sports Southwest.

Yup. The story details that Comcast Houston is not available to even half of Houston.

"CSN Houston has been waging a year-long battle over carriage fees. At a stalemate since the channel went on the air last October, it's still not carried on AT&T, Time Warner, DirecTV, and Dish Network. It's available in roughly 40 percent of Houston households."

Only available to 40 percent, and of those 40 percent how many aren't having it included in their packages?

"Just" a torn medial patellar ligament (which is up in the thigh, apparently) for Machado. No ACL or MCL damage. Should be healed in 6-8 weeks.

That's good news. He'd be AL ROY hands down if he were eligible.

Doesn't look like he'll miss any playoff games. Orioles magic number is two for wild card elimination.

Cardinals' Michael Wacha with a no-no thru 7 against the listless Nationals.
