    And this isn't your typical September no-hit bid against the dregs of the 40-man roster. The Nats are fielding their A-lineup: Span, Zimmerman, Werth, Harper, Desmond, LaRoche, Ramos, Rendon.

    I would not have had a problem with the scorer ruling that an error. A good throw gets Zimmerman by a step. Yes, he was on the run and had to bare-hand the ball, but he still pulled Adams off the bag when a good throw gets an out.

    Don't disagree. When it happened live with the view up high behind home plate I swore the ump blew it a la Galaraga because the throw clearly beat Zimmerman.

    I don't know why Adams came off the bag in the first place. He didn't need to and the replay from the outfield camera almost confirms to me that an error would have been acceptable.

    Probably a stupid question, but: Is there a provision for changing an official scorer's ruling after the game?

    Yes, it happens, but I've never heard of it happening with a no-no at stake.
