You think .280 and 23 HR makes someone "one of the best hitters in baseball"? Seriously?

For the record, this is only the second season he's had 500-plus plate appearances in his career. The other time was his first full season in the bigs when he was 22 and told to hit the ball on the ground to use his speed.

The idea that anyone who improves over the course of his career is "on steroids" has reached the point of ridiculousness.

I guess since Cano is on the same team as ARod, he's on the juice, too. ::)

Thank you for pointing out more of the massive holes in Gehrig's careless and foolish post.

Honestly, it just seems that Sneak and Gehrig clearly don't know much about Gomez and they were too lazy to learn anything before posting their accusations.

At least OOP is consistent in his posts about proof and reckless accusations. Tony on the other hand flings shit at the wall all over this place with no proof. Election fixes, birth certificates, etc, but god forbid a Milwaukee athlete is accused of anything. That only happens in other cities.

They are pretty weak accusations but like any other athlete nobody should be shocked if he was. Also nobody should give a damn.

The last four Rangers-Angels games at Arlington ended with a walkoff homer. Profar last night off Kohn.

I'm not going to get into the debate about tony's consistency, mostly because I can only see that taking us down an ugly road toward a thread lock, but you are right about a few things. Nobody should be shocked to find out any athlete used and nobody should give a damn. But people do care. There are fans that care and there are Hall of Fame voters who care. Not that I ever expect it to be an issue with Gomez, but the crap on this thread seems to rise to the level of evidence of PED use for some, including people who somehow think it is now their sacred duty to find a way to punish every baseball player who ever used a PED.

Rangers-Angels game moved to 11 a.m. CT Saturday because of a forecast of heavy rain. That's 9 a.m. Pacific. If ever a game was destined to have a 0.0 rating in Anaheim to match the Astros' recent one, here you go.

Cabrera in the Tigers' starting lineup. Apparently Leyland is going to ride the dying horse until the corpse quits kicking.

Counting yesterday's off day, if Cabrera sat out this weekend's series, he would have had eight (8) days off in a row before the playoffs started.

Cabrera's got a sports hernia, right? Only way that heals is with surgery, but I don't think you can make it worse.

So what happens if there's a three-team tie to get into two spots for a one-game playoff? That could be epic.

Three seconds of google has the answer:

I want this to happen so bad. I get burned every year.

    Step closer to it.

Tampa loses, Cleveland and Texas win, so Tampa and Cleveland are now tied, with Texas a game back.

I don't understand why everyone is rooting for chaos after 162 games. That's not long enough to decide this thing?

    Because it's fun.
