And the Indians all of a sudden have total command of the Wild Card situation. Wonder if folks in Florida and Texas still think the second Wild Card is an awful idea.

ESPN.com did one of their state-by-state maps earlier today, and Georgia was the only state that disliked it, amusingly.

Georgia baseball is just a bunch of wankers all around, huh?

There is no such rule, IIRC.

The Rays and Twins both wore their navy alternates a few days ago.

An Indians/Francona vs. Red Sox ALDS would be quite compelling.

I look forward to the Sox-owned newspaper's investigative report that Tito might be a child molester.

Talk about a rule just begging to be written and imposed.

UNIFORM DIFFERENTIATION: For the viewing convienence and necessity of game participants and spectators either in person or by media transmission, the opposing teams shall be required to wear uniform jerseys substantially differing from each other in hue, color and reflective properties.

One week prior to Opening Day of each season, each team shall submit to MLB a color reproduction of each variation of uniform color it intends to use in game action. MLB shall produce a master cross-reference list of each uniform compared to potential uniform combinations which may be worn by opponents, and designate which combinations are acceptable or not.

Teams wishing to wear "special" or non-standard uniforms in any game must submit color imaging of such uniforms to MLB for approval at least 30 calendar days before the game in question.

Even after adherence to the above provisions, if at the pregame meeting both teams appear to be wearing visually similar uniforms, the home team will be ordered to change. Failure to comply promptly with these provisions may result in a game forfeit, so teams are strongly urged to have a full set of legal uniforms available at all times.

Probably has something to do with phantom infield flies.

Hunter Pence agrees to a five-year, $90 million contract to stay with the Giants. It's expensive but I'm glad they got it worked out.

Yeah, he really started crushing the ball once the Giants were out of the race (11 homers in September). Positively A-Rod-esque.

I just don't see Pence being an $18 million player.

If he had gone on the market, I think he would have gotten even more.
