Glad to see the Bravos are increasing their gap.

But there was plenty to clap about. They clapped for C. C. Sabathia’s strikeouts. They clapped for Robinson Cano and Kevin Youkilis. They clapped for one Oriole, center fielder Adam Jones, who dropped a fly ball in the bottom of the seventh, with two outs, that allowed the three winning runs to score in the Yankees’ 5-2 win over Baltimore. And they clapped for the 4-6-5-6-5-3-4 triple play that the Yankees recorded in the eighth.

    ...

In the eighth, Sabathia’s last inning, with runners on first and second, Manny Machado hit a grounder to Cano, who flipped the ball to Nix at second base for the first out. Nix then turned and fired to Youkilis at third, where he and Nix cornered the runner until Youkilis ran him down.

Then, noticing Machado in between bases, Youkilis fired the ball to Lyle Overbay at first base. Overbay slung the ball to Cano at second, and he tagged Machado out. The Yankees erupted. Cano skipped off the field while Youkilis yelled and clenched his fists.

It was the first triple play at Yankee Stadium since 1968.

We can create an award for this. Call it the Tebow Trophy.

For the past couple hours, it sounded like Reyes was Kevin Ware II. Reporting got a little hyperbolic there.

So we have Tebow and A-Rod for football and baseball, who wins it for basketball?

And to stay on baseball, Kershaw getting no help at all from the offense tonight.

Right. You'll never see traditional two-fers scheduled again as long as it's "two for the price of one."

People have so many more entertainment options today. And, as a result, attention spans are shorter for many people. Seven hours at the ballpark? Tough call.

Dan Uggla tries to score from second on Harper's arm? Why, is beyond me.
