I'm not sure who you're thinking about.

I remember a few players who had great 1-month starts, but were .200 hitters the rest of the season.

I think a trip to BR-com is in order.

Are you thinking of Brennan Boesch in his rookie year of 2010?

He didn't spend any time in the minors, but his splits were:

    1st Half .342 .397 .593 with an OPS of .990

    2nd Half .163 .237 .222 with an OPS of .458

It could be Chris Shelton. He did have a great start to his career, but flamed out rather quickly.

    Had a non-prolific April-May in 2004 (0 HR).
Started 2005 in the minors, but came up in June and hit 18 HR the rest of the year. Spent most of 2006 with the team, hitting 16 HR and didn't make the team in 2007.

Got sent down at the end of July. 15 HR through June. 1 HR in July. Minors in August and got recalled when rosters expanded.

The gap's getting bigger, as a local moron would say.

Yep. There's still hope in town for the wild card, though.

Nats might have this clinched already if they had kept Morse.

20-year-old Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez is absolutely nasty. 96-mph fastball and a slider they call "The Defector."

    I know, right?

Odd schedule for the Braves. Sixth straight road game tomorrow. Home for two against KC, then on road for 10.

They could be 13-1 by the time they finish the sweep of the Nats and then beat the Royals twice.

Freeman is out. McCann is out. Heyward isn't hitting. One of the Uptons isn't hitting. They could be even better soon.

RAISE THE FLAG! THEY HAVE A GAP!
