BJ and Justin Upton go back-to-back in the 5th in Colorado. First brothers to do so since Paul and Lloyd Waner in 1938.

Bauer does the same type of long toss, maybe even more extreme. It's hurt him in limited major league action.

Brewers have won nine in a row. Playing the Cubs and Padres back-to-back doesn't hurt, but I'm pretty fucking pleased considering Corey Hart and Aramis Ramirez are out and that a few other starters missed some games. I thought April was going to have to be a time of the season to get through until they returned, but after a shit start, the Brewers are right in the mix.

The Brewers have even been playing (gulp!) Yuni Betancourt at both corner spots and he's not completely fucked up the works.

Yeah, as fun as that might be, I wouldn't set aside money for playoff tickets on the Brewers just yet. Or even over .500 tickets, if such a thing existed.

Over .500 tickets are also known as NBA playoff tickets.

Well-played, sir. Sometimes it doesn't even have to be .500 tickets. There's been years where 38-44 gets you in.

    Well ... no shit.

But given their injuries, I thought the Brewers were going to have a big hole to climb out of when they got healthy. I've been pleasantly surprised.

As for .500? Certainly might not happen with their inconsistent pitching, but when healthy, the Brewers have as good a lineup as anyone, and with Segura at short, their infield defense has elevated itself to below-average instead of atrocious.

Brewers can win 85 games, and in this division, that puts them in the mix.

Well, the first four were a victory over the bastard Cardinals and then a sweep of the defending world champions.

One of the beautiful things in the streak is that they were out-hit in four straight games until last night. They also had consecutive days where they had more runs than hits (Sunday and Monday).

    Strasburg 1-4 now.

    Can you say "overhyped"?
