Nats trainers revived MLB Network cameraman after heart attack today, but Reuben Porras, 61, died later.

A lot of that going on. This is Trumbo's, which was hit about 6 hours before Monday's game ended.

Josh Beckett is done as an effective pitcher. He's just trash now.

Rays have efficiently turned a 6-1 lead into a 9-6 deficit against the Royals.

Three innings left, too. And the temperature is dropping fast in Kansas City.

I can't believe it's been 20 years since the Rockies came into MLB.

Well, that's certainly a conversation piece.

First homer in NL history was May 2, A Long Time Ago.

Per The National Pastime Museum's FB page: Did you know the first home run in National League history was an inside the park job? It's true. On May 2, 1876, Chicago's Ross Barnes hit a HR shot off of Cincy's Cherokee Fisher. Barnes went on to a long and successful career in baseball. See this TNPM wood cutout image of Barnes in Baseball's "Official Record."

Ross Barnes still wasn't as good as Punto.

How many of the ball fields even had fences in the 1870s?

That third "diamond flash" is ... interesting.

And am I the only one amused by how generally similar that is to the baseball pages that you can still see today (assuming your newspaper runs one, of course)?

Napoli's three-run bomb last night was hit into big-kid territory. Seen plenty of homers off the old Windows restaurant in centre (reopened this year as a centre-field "porch" but can't recall many hit into the Sightlines restaurant above that.

    Still, nothing Punto couldn't do.
