I think it says more about people doing the writing/talking. Just as all the talk about how low the U.S. Open scores would be at Merion is just proof that people will write/talk out of their ass to fill space and air time.

I don't see the Spurs losing two in a row, even though both are in Miami. They only lost two in a row three times this season, twice during the Rodeo road trip when they played seven games in 10 nights, six on the road. They lost at Utah and at Portland in the third and fourth road games in five nights, then lost at Oklahoma City and Denver a couple of nights later.
They did lose their last two regular season games when they were resting everyone, but not really counting that.
They did also lose at home to Miami, then at Memphis the next night.
I just think they are so good and so experienced they will not lose two in a row...they haven't yet in this year's playoffs. And they are 7-2 on the road this playoffs.
I think Wade had his big night in Game Three, don't see him contributing like that again in the series. Also think he is getting abused on the defensive end of the floor.
I actually think San Antonio ends it with a win in Game Six.

How do you rig Danny Green shooting out of his mind from three point range? Does Stern now have some radar/missile guided/super duper ultra-GPS technology that he's using to guide each player's shot by joystick? This series has had unpredictable twists and turns, but they don't appear to be based upon anything that could be "rigged" from what I've seen.

It amuses me how the NBA conspiracy theorists manage to find it in everything. This series plainly defies one of their favored themes, the one about the league trying to manufacture close games decided in the final minutes. Well, in this series, nearly every frickin game has been a blowout decided well before the final minutes. "Doesn't matter, rigged anyways...."

I agree. Talk show hosts and columnists must think listeners and readers have their brains scrubbed after each show.

No, silly. There's a microchip in the ball, and each basket is controlled via super-duper laser system in the bedroom bathroom at Stern's home, where he watches every game in drag and '86 Jordans. Every time Green takes a 3-pointer, Stern hits a button that activates the chip in the ball so that it locks onto the basket, which shifts slightly so that the ball goes in. The basket shift is ever so slight, and humans can't see it happen because it happens only when the ball leaves Green's fingers.

So that's how the series is rigged.

Thank you for that detailed explanation. I wish I had known this when the Lakers stole the 2002 Western Conference championship from the Kings.

Meanwhile, it looks like the Celtics are about to fleece someone yet again... maybe the Clippers this time.

And then Stern eats a live kitten to celebrate? Or is that a puppy?

I wouldn't say the series is "rigged", but San Antonio is better than most fans ever give them credit for. Above all, they're a really smart team and coach Pop gets the most out of his roster. Therefore, the opponent is going to have to play 110% to beat them and that's pretty damn hard for most teams, including Miami, to do.

    Still, Heat in 7.

Maybe it's a live boy.

  11. The Celtics have asked permission of the Bobcats to interview Patrick Ewing for Boston's head coach position. Things just got real.

The Spurs also have something the Pacers didn't have in the ECF -- consistent outside shooters. Though at the moment called Danny Green "consistent" is a huge understatement.
