dynastic team? Duncan and Ginobli were rookies on the Maginot Line.

Its like saying the current Italian Army is part and parcel of the Ancient Roman Legions

Had Jordan come along in the Twitter/Deadspin/TMZ era, it would have been fascinating to see how much it tweaked our view of him as an "icon." (It doesn't chhabge as a player.)

    Slight hyperbole?
Even if you quibble with the dynastic term that was one damn good team. Especially on the defensive end. 37 points against them is an accomplishment, especially when their entire defensive strategy is built around packing the paint to stop you.

So their three titles don't count because they weren't in consecutive years?

For James, this title is even more impressive than last year's because he didn't have consistent help all the way through.

Well, they never would have been able to slip the gambling suspension past the public, that's for sure.

Saying Lebron never had to work doesn't hold up, either. He worked his ass off to develop a post game, which he used to rally his team from a 10 point fourth quarter deficit in game 6. Then he used his much improved jumper to win game 7. Just say you hate him because of the way he left Cleveland and leave it at that

Even that isn't completely valid. How many of the people who hate LeBron for leaving Cleveland have left papers for other rags in better places with better pay? It's a part of life.

It is. James deserves the MVP, he carried the team and he was mostly impressive.

The Heat were not impressive this playoff season, but neither was the league. But James is far and away the best player in the league.

Would San Antonio have beaten the Pacers in a 7 game series? Would it have gone 7 games?

Granted that Parker was dealing with the hamstring issue, but LBJ did a great job on him last night.

I thought that Diaw did a surprisingly good job keeping LBJ in front of him and shut him down in the post.

That's worth noting too - Lebron is a great defensive player. Not too many people in the league could harass Tony Parker the way James did the past two games. A big part of why Parker appeared so gassed at the end of both games was because he had to deal with James guarding him so much, making things more difficult.

while also guarding Duncan at times, along with being the teams top rebounder and bringing up the ball on most posessions.

Is anybody in the league asked to do nearly as much?
