That is hilarious about Geno Smith and Matt Barkley and I bet it happens. Nobody can ever pass up a half-decent quarterback.

Way too high on the QBs, and why the hell would the Texans take a TE first round? They're already stocked at TE.

Isn't Gil Brandt wrong all the time?

If Manti Te'o is still there that late, the Bears better move heaven an earth to jump up and take him. Urlacher isn't getting any younger and injuries are really starting to catch up with him, and Te'o would be a suitable heir without requiring a massive shift in their defensive scheme. But I dont see him falling that far. And while the Cards are a mess at QB, do they really take another USC pivot?

Interesting decision here. Not saying it's wrong, but given the QBs who are coming out this year and next, it's not easy figuring out where Thomas belongs. This year, he's behind Glennon, Smith, Barkley, and probably Bray and Wilson as well. He said he did not get a first-round grade from the NFL advisory board, obviously.

Next year, he's battling with Aaron Murray, Tajh Boyd, and A.J. McCarron to name a few. Is Teddy Bridgewater eligible for the draft next year? What about Manziel?

Manziel and Bridgewater are both eligible for the draft next year, yes.

Marcus Lattimore, the name-check in the thread title, says Dr. James Andrews has told him "you're going to shock the world."

I hope somebody nabs him in the fourth round, gives him a low six-figure bonus and keeps him on the active roster for a couple of years. He can grind out a million or two.

I'm seeing a lot of new QB names on some of the new mock drafts going up. I saw one (on Fox Sports) that had five QBs going in the first round. They had the Syracuse kid, Tyler Wilson, EJ Manuel, Barkley and Smith all as first-rounders. I'll be surprised if more than three make it, but there are quite a few teams that could use an upgrade and there are so few decent free agent QBs this year. That's still not reason enough to reach for a QB, although I'll bet Dallas does.

The Syracuse guy (Ryan Nassib) supposedly had a pretty bad Senior Bowl week.

If this is the official draft thread, I thought it was interesting to hear that the top quarterbacks in this year's draft all plan to throw at the combine, something that almost never, ever happens...

I realize that with the new CBA that taking a quarterback with a high pick is as tempting as ever because you can lock them in for five years at an extremely cheap price (for a starting QB) but I still don't see any QB from this class as a top five pick.

If Joeckel really does compare favorably to Jake Long or Joe Thomas, then I would take him No. 1 in a heartbeat.
