Have not crystallized my thinking yet if draft was weak or that they type of players taken are a result of the evolution of college football offenses. With the advent of spread RB has become a less critical position and I think a lot of players who would have been RB's are being moved to hybrid LB/ DB where they have the combination of size and speed to play in space. With the NFL becoming a passing league they are looking for more quick athletic linemen like Johnson that can block edge rushers.

Many NFL offenses still catching up so I think that the draft will be "out of sync" for a few years.

Maybe Teo is not really in Hawaii and Alex Flannigan concocted story to get a free vacation.

Love this clip from the mid-2000s, when Boomer Esiason called Peyton Manning "this generation's Dan Marino."
Marino tries to laugh it off at first, but the death glare he shoots Boomer right at the end is priceless.

As opposed to Esiason, who was his generation's Donovan McNabb.

Hmm... That's an interesting comparison... Statistically, it works pretty well, but I remember McNabb a lot more negatively than I do Esiason, even though I know that's not fair. It's probably a result of McNabb ending his career so badly and that it was more recent than Esiason.

I would kind of put Esiason in the Rich Gannon, Phil Simms category.... Maybe Theismann too...

As usual The Jets screwed things up. Since they are stuck with Sanchez they need to start surrounding him with some tools. Warmack / Eifert combo would look a lot better today than Milner / Richardson. I would have even accepted Milner/ Eifert as fallback. The Jets did not need another DL at this point given all their needs at other positions. Eifert would have been a great fit in new West Coast Offense and a great target for Sanchez. Brett Celek shined in Mornhiweg system and Eifert would have also. They could have take a chance on someone like Damontre Moore in 2nd round if they wanted another DL.

It'd be funny if Te'o goes to the Bears and the Vikings sign the old bald dude the Bears thanked for his services and sent packing.

    Ok, not funny.
