Would love to see Anderson at least get in the room. I don't think it will happen only because the voting history has totally overlooked kickers. Now Anderson is certainly the best candidate to come along in a while. The fact that he got to the semifinalist stage so quickly is a tribute in itself.

The problem is going to be -- which voter is going to pick a kicker over guys that have been finalists in the past and have a chance to get back in the room.

One thing I'd like the Hall do is release the semifinalists (top 10? top 5 at least) for the seniors committee to see who else was in the running beyond the ones they decide to nominate.

You and others might think, but ...

Posted this either last year or the year before - I had a good relationship with a longtime Packers' insider and was told some of Kramer's teammates were jealous of him. Reason? The books. Seems petty to me, but some of the guys resented the notoriety Kramer received and the money he put in his pocket. He was perceived as actively seeking out the spotlight.

EDIT: The overall feeling I got was more than a few of those old Packers were peeved Kramer became some sort of de facto team mouthpiece.

Not bad on that Packer sweep, either.

+1. And +1 on Della's assessment Shields gets screwed due to circumstances beyond his control.

Unless you are in the room, how do you know the intellectual assessment is on a given player? Taking a quote and determining it is was the only barometer of how players were chosen is absurd.

Essentially, 2 1st team all pro years = Hall of Fame? So Kurt Warner gets in, right?

How are these linemen being evaluated? Other than what the much criticized Peter King has revealed, we know very little of the process.

Maybe Kramer's place-kicking is being held against him.
