They haven't addressed it on air very much because they plan to resume Teddy's heel turn angle they started before Booker's surgery.

I just found this tremendous story, written by Keith Elliott Greenberg, on Bleacher Report (yeah, I know, but this isn't one of those stories) on the final days of Randy Savage.

It's not just about his final days, but also about his life, and his relationship with his parents. I thought about posting it on the Journalism thread because it was such a good read, but I figured it'd get more appreciated here:

  3. So, I don't know if anyone really cares but anyone have any clue who they plan to have win the Goldy version of the MITB match? It's a pretty random group of guys but there are a few in there I wouldn't mind seeing get the push. I'm assuming it'll be Ambrose but perhaps it's a bit early for him? I'd have thought Fandango before the injury slowed his momentum but I suppose it could still be him. I'd like to see Cesaro get a shot.

The only one it's not early for is Swagger. I really don't know who is going to win this match, or the Raw MITB -- though it seems they're building toward Punk and Ambrose.

I could see Cesaro winning and causing dissension between him and Swagger, eventually leading to Zeb choosing one or the other (possibly Cesaro to force Swagger down the card as delayed punishment for his DUI).

I can't help but to think that the McMahon drama will spill over into the MITB rosters and that they'll screw around with them. Which would be an irritating vehicle with which to do it, but an all-face match and an all-heel match doesn't sound like a good plan.

Anybody think RVD wins MITB in the comeback by screwing over Punk, thusly setting up more tension between Heyman and Punk since RVD is a Heyman guy and plus they are in PHILLY for the PPV.

I dunno, just seems like that'd be pretty cool if they did that. Then again ...

Seventeen years ago, Hulk Hogan officially joined the nWo. I remember that match very well, thinking Hogan was coming in to make the save for WCW.

They could also do something along those lines, but have a third person (likely Bryan) benefit. Then you get Bryan with the MITB push, and you still get a nice RVD-Punk-Heyman-Lesnar feud moving forward.

I hope they don't give it to Punk. Use this to set something else up for Punk and give it to Bryan. I'd rather see Bryan win MITB and get the strap, then have Punk talk about how Bryan only got it because RVD/Heyman/Lesnar screwed him out of MITB. Sets up feuds through the summer.

And I want Ambrose to win the Goldy MITB. If not him, give it to Cody.

They could do it, but the impact would be somewhat blunted by the every-man-for-himself nature of the MITB match. It'd have to be really overt, like Heyman finding one more 1980s cell phone in his arsenal and putting it in RVD's hands as Punk climbs the ladder. But then that would counteract his previous desire to walk down the aisle with WWE champion CM Punk again. Unless that's a lie. But Paul Heyman would never lie.

For being an "all-star" lineup, I don't really see any reasonable winners out of the bunch other than Punk and Bryan. They're really not sure what they want to do with Orton or Sheamus, Christian and Kane seem really unlikely and RVD probably isn't a long-term guy. I still expect some McMahon meddling to result in heels in the WWE match and faces in the World match.

But my DVR is already queued for Raw and the debut of the Wyatt family. I still think he should target Daniel Bryan, because of his weak-link insecurity and his beard. He definitely should convert at least one WWE wrestler into a minion.

  11. That's precisely what I think will happen.

Question: Would they blow an appearance for Brock to show up at MitB to cost Punk the contract? It could further set up their SummerFest match. Not sure how many dates he agreed to. I'm sure as shit more excited for Lesnar/Punk than Brock/Rock 2.
