Didn't post that here ... but I had a hunch HHH would do that to set it up for Orton. There was no reason for HHH to be the special referee for this match ... and played no role in the match until now. And he was hanging around in the ring when Bryan was celebrating for no apparent reason.

    Evolution, part deux.

I know the thrill is in the chase, but couldn't this have waited a night at least? Let us regular folk bask in the glory of our everyman champion?

Daniel Bryan is now the #1 babyface in WWE...and it's not close. I love it.

Saw the swerve coming as soon as Orton started walking away from the ring, but that was fantastic.

Saw the swerve right away because Trips kept staying in the ring and kept acting really happy.

Yay, Trips has turned heel for the 18,456,739th time. Who gives a fuck? It's not 2003 anymore.

WWE just managed to ruin a great moment for their fans. This is late 90s WCW at its suckitude.

One quick tangent, Cena needs time off, badly. He's obviously working hurt with the elbow, but if you watched him closely tonight ... he's damn tired. Worn out. Beat up. The guy needs a break. I mean, other than a few little instances, it's like he didn't have that extra gear tonight. And those few times, it seemed like he was struggling a bit. I really hate his character, but as a man, he needs to take care of himself and allow himself this break.

The end of a show is a great example of how Cole can't sell the outrage of a swerve. Where's JR calling everyone and their mothers a son of a bitch?

  8. I feel like Bryan is so damn hot that he doesn't need the strap to get the rub from fans. In many ways, I think this played out perfect. And now, Bryan can chase a true legitimate heel to win the title. And they can keep playing up the every man status against the corporate side. I really hope this somehow ends with Bryan winning the title for a real run at Wrestlemania in an epic showdown with Punk. I don't know how they get there but it's what I want to see.

    Haha, not even close.

So if Triple H is a heel, and presumably Vince remains a heel, then either Stephanie transitions to a face role (which would be awkward and probably wouldn't work very well), or all the McMahons are heel, which means all the authority figures (those three, Vicki, Mad Ox) are heel, which means we wait for someone to take on the face role in management to counteract them (Foley? Returning Stone Cold? Returning Shane?).

Off the top of my head, it could set up a HELL of a Survivor Series match -- Orton + The Shield vs. Cena + Bryan + Punk + someone else good (Ziggler?)

Respectfully disagree. Yeah, as a mark, I'm disappointed as hell. But this was the right move whether it happened tonight or tomorrow or a week from now. Cena will take time off, Bryan will be the top face and chasing a guy who's needed and will benefit from a character shake-up. Besides, we've seen the kind of matches Bryan/Orton can have. Those guys will tear down the house when they have 30 minutes at the next PPV.

I'm still stupidly holding out for Punk/Austin at WM30.
