The E has long acknowledged that SmackDown and every other show is pre-taped. But with ratings continuing to dip, I see it as a "please tune in" ploy. Besides, it also shows that they're savvy enough to know they can't keep a lid on something happening at a pre-taped show. Too many smarks who report into the independent sites.

As far as Monday goes, it was a great night for me. Alabama won, and CM Punk carried Ryback through a damn good TLC match. At least, as good as any free-TV match I've seen in a while. And his promo was fantastic. Putting him together with The Dwayne really shows that The Roid is still doing the same shit he did 13 years ago. He hasn't grown much as a performer, and Punk is at another level on the mic. Sure, a lot of other lesser talents cut promos like the Roid, a lot of empty talk, catchphrases, etc. It's still impressive that the Roid can get the crowd going, but it's not like he's delivering a complex, thought-provoking promo. He's just having them yell out stupid shit. Foley complained about this stuff back in the Attitude Era. But, it appears that it's all crowds can handle.

I never had anything against The Rock during his heyday, but I'm not cool with seeing him now, especially in the title picture. He's only coming back to plug a few movies and make an easy payday by working what may only be three matches. Then he's gone again, until his next crop of summer blockbusters rolls around. At this point, Brock Lesnar's return had more impact, and at least he doesn't get in the way of the rest of the show.

So, no. I'm against The Roid winning the title. I don't mind him coming back for a few matches, but leave the title hunt to the guys who are working day in and day out.

    End of rant.

OK, so I need to get myself up on the 2013 Pro Wrestling thread, and wanted to touch on a few other topics in the news, but I'm getting tired and cranky, so HERE:

    * Does any of this matter if Punk doesn't go over on The Rock (I'd be shocked if he does). Why cheapen the product by putting the title on a movie star part-time wrestler?

    * If I were in WWE Creative, I would have done something to make Damien Sandow a nephew of Randy Savage. The resemblance is striking (but the pink and purple ensemble is NOT).

    * El Generico looks a bit, er, generic to me. Spike Dudley 2.0.

    * The midget sliding on his face in Bradley's set of GIFs made me lol. So did the Big Show losing his head on the other one.

    * I'm liking Dolph Ziggler as well. My son calls him "Spaghetti Head." Too bad Vince stuck him with such a stupid name.

    * The New York Times page design on the Baseball Hall of Fame was gutsy. And cool.

    * I agree that steroid freaks do not belong in the Hall of Fame. I don't care what they did for the sport. Are you listening, Terry Bollea?

    * Notre Dame, as I've said a thousand times, was vastly overrated.

    * I want Alex Smith as the starting quarterback for the Chiefs. I'd take Tim Tebow, but only in a backup role. And for God's sake, trade the No. 1 pick. The Chiefs need to fill more holes than the would gain with the pick.

    * Ray Lewis, at least the second man to play in the NFL and get away with murder, retired. And not a fuck was given at HarleyHouse.

    * AJ Lee is still hot.

Always loved the shot of Melina unknowlingly cuddling up with HBK. And the Shockmaster bit never gets old.

The granny trying to bitch slap Hogan is precious. When old folks think wrestling is real and try to assault the talent ... now that's old school rasslin!

Watching SD, it seems they had to redo some of the segments with Rock, Sandow and Cody. Seemed a lot of it was choppy and Rock missed a line or two. Maybe I'm wrong ...

  8. How was it that the first post about tonight's Smackdown wasn't about A.J. nearly losing her shirt?

I caught the last part of IMPACT, where Knox hit Angle with the hammer.

I must admit the Aces and Eights stable is pretty cool.

But, ayfkm about Bully Ray 1) being a face 2) proposing to Brooke Hogan.

I hope Bully ends up being the mastermind of Aces and Eights though. It'd be a good swerve.

Who do you guys this is more over; Bryan or Sheamus?

    And, why?

Personally, I believe it's Bryan. The chants he gets every time he comes down that ramp, or even while he's in the ring is incredible.

    Thoughts?

    It's Bryan, hands down.

I think fans are tired of Sheamus' character, at least I am. It's time to make him a heel again or something to freshen him up.
