As the voter who gave UW its two points, I could see the Huskies making a run this year.

The offense will score if Price returns to his 2011 form and Bishop Sankey has another good year at running back.

    Washington's defense? Hell, it's the Pac-12 ...

I certainly think the Huskies will dump Boise State in the opener. The Broncos lost a lot, and in my mind aren't even the favorites to win their league (that would be Fresno State).

The groupthink that goes in with the polls is upsetting. I was very disappointed to see the SJ Poll is the same as the AP and Coaches polls; literally the only differences are the order of the teams 11-16. Every other team is the exact same as the two other major polls. People should fill out their ballot before looking at other polls; it is more fun that way.

That's because we're all AP voters or current Division I coaches (who had our SIDs do the USA Today voting).

Tangentially related topic: I don't think I'll be resuming duties as the weekly thread poster this season. It was a good run, though.

So when are polls due this week? Florida State plays Monday night.

Usually the first ballots after preseason rankings are on Tuesday at noon, I believe.

    You're all over it, Madhavok.

Thanks to the Monday night ESPN game, we push the deadline back a day to noon CDT on TUESDAY, Sept. 3.

If you can get the ballot PM'd to me on Monday night, after the game, even better.

Since I rarely get any prediction correct, I'll go Johnny Football on y'all and quote this. :)

Of course, I wasn't confident enough to put my money where my mouth is ...
