That seems to be following the football trend: put so many people on the analyst desk that none of them has time to say very much.

Milbury and Jones speculated that if Luongo was traded, he could well reclaim the No. 1 spot in Vancouver. Will be interesting to watch.

Looking forward to seeing Jagr in a Stars uniform; had almost forgotten about his move there.

Selanne 2+2, tied for the league lead in scoring ... with Jagr.

Caps defense looked awful and Ovechkin was a no-show. Not a promising start, though Tampa is a difficult road venue. As expected, sloppy game with a ton of penalties.

The opening of the 60th season of Hockey Night in Canada. Some terrific stuff narrated by the great Dave Bidini, a terrific musician and an even better hockey writer:

Looks like Luongo got the start in goal against Edmonton and gave up the tying goal late in the third period and then lost in a shootout.

That was the Blues under Hitchcock at their best: hounding the opponent, then getting spurts of high-energy offense. I sure hope the Blues make a run at the Cup, being that they cashiered 5-6 seasons to get this foundation.

He didn't look very good on either goal he allowed, and I couldn't be happier. Good to see Hemsky appear to find his game again. If they keep him going and all the kids play even halfway close to expectations, this could be a pretty big year. A little concerning to see Dubnyk give up the Eler goal, but he played well beyond that, especially considering he has hardly played since last year -- only action was at the world championships and Spengler cup but played well in both.

Thanks for sharing that. I missed this last night when I was working. By the time I got to the bar it was in the second period of the Leafs and Habs game.

HC & I went to the Leafs/Islanders game tonight.

Leafs up 3-1 after 1 and then they fell asleep. Lost 7-4.

Based on the pathetic goaltending of both Scrivens and Reimer, Luongo may be coming.

Eddie Belfour coming out of retirement could have stopped four of those goals .

The Stars gacked up an OT loss to the Blackhawks, but nobody cares.

Because Jamie Benn agreed to a 5-year extension tonight.

    :D
