Well, this is not good. Leafs up 4-1 against the Flyers and halfway through the second Reimer goes off with what may be a groin injury. He had to be helped off.

Let the LUONGO FOR KADRI phone ins begin! ;)

Leafs are all over the Flyers.

Important groins in a state of flux. :D BTW, did Grabovski get a suspension?

L.A. defeated St. Louis 4-1. Bernier was good, but didn't have to be spectacular against a team playing like it is tanking.

Wonder if Calgary would have any trade interest in him? Miikka isn't getting any younger and Irving is still trying to prove himself. Outside of a soft first goal against Columbus, I thought Irving was pretty good against the Blue Jackets. Didn't see Saturday's game nor the one tonight.

St. Louis needs to roll some dice. Some sort of trade may be in order to shake it up. Wednesday in Detroit would be a tough place to debut, but it is time to see if Jake Allen is ready. If not there, then Friday at Calgary.

Might as well roll the dice and get Allen in there...he gave up two in eight shots last week against Nashville, including one on the first shot, but his confidence was not rattled at all. The other came late, after the horse was already long gone. Hitchcock has clearly lost confidence in Elliott and if Halak can't play, they really have no other options...

Heard about this on McCown last week...heard the conversation. He's had it converted to DVD apparently. For a guy who is an iconic and beloved Leaf, who works in community relations for the team, he comes off as kind of a selfish bastard. He must have all the money he needs...he ought to donate it back to CBC or to the Hockey Hall of Fame. Keep a copy to show the grandkids, for sure, but why hoard it away. His kids will probably auction it off to some collector after he passes away.

It seems kind of douchey to me but thought maybe there's some sort of 'code' I don't know about. :D

Agreed but after sleeping on it, I'm a become a little shaky sticking Allen in there for his first career start against a surging Detroit club at Joe Louis Arena. Elliott wasn't bad against L.A., especially considering the circumstances. Still, as you basically stated, what the hell are they going to do? And Hitchcock had already said Saturday Allen would start versus the Kings if Halak couldn't go (little could he foresee future circumstances). If the coach was willing to start the kid against the defending Cup champions, I suppose he might throw him to the wolves at the Joe.

Couldn't sleep late last night and watched a replay of Carolina-Islanders. The WhalerCanes were impressive and good to see Ward playing well. Did not know this, but there's not enough room on the bench at Nassau for the backup goalie. Dan Ellis had to sit in an entrance way at one end of the ice. Reminded me of the minors. Barclays, anyone?

In my estimation, you pay your dollar, you get to holler -- for the team of your choice.

Whalercanes are scoring, and Cam Ward is making enough key stops. Could be a nice formula ...
