Surprised by this one as well. While it's tough to dispute how efficient the Oil was in the '80s, I would have thought that some of those games featured even more shots than this.

Boy, you've got that right. Playing like a machine of late.

I caught part of the third period, OT and shootout Ducks-Preds. Fasth as to be the early Calder leader. Eight straight wins. Had not heard of the guy a year ago and I know I'm not alone.

Pretty sure that at age 30, Fasth is ineligible for the Calder Trophy.

Yeah I believe you gotta be 26 and younger, ala the Sergei Makarov rule

With them picking MacDonald up off waivers, he is going to get the bulk of the time in net, and they want Irving to work on his game further.

Looks like I missed a good one.Was out with friends from work amd kept getting updates on my phone. At first I wasn't too upset I was missing it, but by the end I was wanting to ditch to get home and watch what was left.

I'd completely forgotten about this. Nor did I realize he was 30.

Hope he does well. It sure was strange Friday to see a Calgary goalie with a "Wings on the Wheel" mask.

Yeah that doesn't happen very often, usually the goalie just goes to a blankmask until anew one is paintedor the throw some stickers on to cover up the other team's logo if it is small enough. Many of them though have custom fit/molded masks -- or at least they used to -- so that complicates things if they don't have a back up blank.

Don't get to see my boy Duchene play much these days, but man, watching him last night brought back memories of the days when I had a front-row seat for the best show in junior hockey watching him every night. Good to see him ripping it up after a tough 2011-12.

Anyone watch the college hockey at Soldier Field?

His goal was like one of his many during his Brampton days. Completely outskated everybody on the ice, undresses the D-man and then, when the goalie's looking for the puck, it's in the net

I remember telling a billet, "I could watch Matt Duchene play hockey all day and never get bored"

Flames score three unanswered in the third to beat Dallas 4-3. Hartley went mini-Keenan with a lot of shuffling and it worked.

Dallas was terrible in the defensive zone, though. Bachman wasn't awful, but seems slow regaining his skates sometimes.
