2013: The NHL season that almost wasn't

I saw one video shot of Tarasenko's face and it looked like his eyes had rolled backward. St. Louis has to hope this doesn't turn into a Perron redux.

 

Taylor Hall suspended two games. Beef to the red phone, please. ;D

 

I don't agree with it as a knee, if anything it was interference. But he hit him mostly with his hip, getting him in the thigh. Clutterbuck's injury is even a thigh bruise. From the replay I've seen, he didn't stick the knee out, he kept it under his body as he went in for a hip check.

Haven't seen Shannyvision yet with his breakdown.

It was a bit of an ugly hit, definitely borderline, not surprised a short suspension was handed out. Not happy about it, but not surprised.

 

Have now watched the Shanahan video on the suspension and I do agree. I now see it as kneeing. With it slowed right down you can see him lead with the knee. No issues with the suspension.

 

Leafs and Sens tonight in Ottawa. The fights in the stands and in the bars after the game will probably be more entertaining than the game itself.

Like the new conferences. Not crazy about the "wild card" playoff idea floated at the end of the article though.

With the seven team conferences in the West that seems to preclude expansion in the Eastern Time Zone - I'm looking at you Quebec City & Hamilton.
