It's even more awesome than you'd expect.

    1) The Devils were on the power-play when it happened, so Brodeur gets credited with a power-play goal.

    2) The opposing goalie had not yet made it to the bench, so technically the goal is against him and not an empty-netter.

Damn. I thought he had retired. I've seen them 4 times this season and he didn't play in any of those games.

Any strip joints near the rink?

Sounds about right. Hopefully he can go back-to-back tonight with no issues. Caps looking for the shutout trifecta in Manitoba tonight. Huge, huge game. Four-point swing at stake. Win pulls the Caps within five points of first. Regulation loss drops them nine back again. Though the eight seed looking more and more tenable as Carolina and the Rangers continue to flounder.

Caps destroying the Jets tonight, 5-0, midway through the third. With Laich and Green, they're a very good team. Just hope there's enough time for them to get to the playoffs ...

They have 29 points, Jets have 34. Doubt it will happen. They also have to jump over Carolina

I hate that the Division winner gets into the playoffs. Jets would be tied with the Devils for 7th if they just seeded the Conference 1-8

Yeah, it's going to be tough. That 2-8-1 hole to start was a killer, as I knew it would be. Carolina is falling apart though. As are the Rangers. Caps have a game in hand on Winnipeg, too. Somehow only three points out of the eight seed. Obviously a huge game at the skidding Rangers on Sunday.

The Stars just traded captain Brenden Morrow to the Penguins.

The last link to the Stars' Stanley Cup finals in 2000 (he was still in the minors for the '99 Cup).

    Damn.

Wow, the strong get stronger. Morrow can't carry a team anymore, but he can certainly contribute. I was a little surprised they didn't get more in return (prospect and a fifth-round draft pick).
