As a Pittsburgh fan, I should be happy about this deal?

I'm asking the hockey folks on this board. Not here to debate, just to hear their opinions.

Awesome. And now Crosby will be screaming "Iggy!!!" for the rest of the season. :)

Much happier than you should be about the other 2 deals.

Calgary royally fucked this situation up. They should have been looking to rebuild years ago, they would have a gotten kings ransom for Iginla. 2 older college players and a low first doesn't seem like the best of returns compared to what they could have had if they hadn't had been so delsuional as to what little talent they actually had surrounding Iginla.

    I agree completely.
As much as Sutter failed to surround him with anyone to play with, this is on Feaster, he had the opportunity to year it down when he came in and refused to do so.
Still he should have been able to get more for him than what they did.

Leafs blow another 2 goal lead against the Canes and come back from a 3-2 deficit to win 6-3 (two empty netters) thanks to Phaneuf and a highlight reel winning goal by Lupul. It was an end-to-end rush and made Joe Corvo looked like a school crossing guard with a stop sign.

    Film at eleven.

Lupul is, bar none, the best Toronto player right now. Won the game for the Leafs against the Panthers last night (Tuesday night?)

EDIT: Here you go. Lupul goal at 3:30

Nice goal. Been a long time coming for Lupol to play at this level, a seventh overal pick way back in 2002.

I am notreally sure how much more the Flames could have gotten for him. JC hit it when he said that this was too late, seems some people were still thinking that the magic of 2004 would miraculously return.

Iginla has looked pretty disinterested far too often. I would not be suprised if the change of scenery rejuvenates him considerably. I would be suprised if Feaster is back next year.

It's easy to say that Feaster should have traded him sooner, but was it really his decision to make? That may fall more on ownership than Feaster.

And if there is only one team that a player is willing to go to that isn't going to make it a seller's market.

They still had a week, they should never have settled for what they got. These are barely prospects and one is a UFA this summer. I'm sure this deal is still there 7 days from now.
