I think if Indiana was going to fire Crean they would have already pulled the trigger.

I haven't heard any talk of Boeheim thinking retirement this year, so I don't see any of those jobs opening unless there's some mutual interest between Calipari and an NBA franchise.

Rex Chapman says Calipari is headed to the Lakers after tonight's game:

That'll be an interesting coaching search, if real.

Coach Cal has been there and not done well at that.

He'd better not be calling anyone a "Mexican idiot" in LA.

If Calipari leaves Kentucky, I'm guessing it won't be for a re-building project and I don't care how bad they've been this season, the Lakers are not that (at least not at this point).

I don't know how "in the know" Chapman is in regards to Calipari's future, but I don't think he has any incentive to spread false rumors about his alma mater. That certainly doesn't mean it's going to happen though...

Indiana is losing NINE of their 18 players this year. I don't know what is more impressive, losing 9 players or having so many walk-ons that you have 18 players on roster. They lose their best player Noah Vonleh and two seniors who either started or logged starter minutes with Will Sheehy and Evan Gordon plus two end of the bench types in Taylor Wayer and Jeff Howard.

Here's where things get interesting, a whopping four players are transferring!!!! Austin Etherington, Jonny Marlin, Jeremy Hollowell and Luke Fischer are all leaving and Hollowell was averaging 18 minutes per game and Etherington 10.

Other than Yogi Ferrell, Indiana has no offense, and their big men are 6-7 and 6-9 and coming off seasons of scoring about 2 points per game.

    Crean better find something.

If La Mamba is finished as a top-level player, of which there's an excellent chance, the Lakers are WORSE than a rebuilding project; they're a disaster area with almost no hope for the future.

I think the Lakers would swap rosters with the UK in a heartbeat.

They also could very easily get a top 5 pick and add a top free agent. I know they have a lot of cap space this summer.

I hope you're right, but every time the Lakers start to have a couple bad seasons, something happens to change that. Some of that was because of brilliant front office moves made by people who are now gone, but then there are things like Shaq deciding to go there or something like that. I don't think the Lakers have had anything worse than three bad/mediocre seasons in a row since long before most of us were born. It always seems to work out for them. I'm not for a second saying it's all luck, because obviously it's way more than that, but they always seem to figure it out.
